Initial Operation
Always use the correct voltage: The voltage of
the power source must agree with the values on
the nameplate of the machine.
Switching On and Off
To start the tool, first push the safety lock
against starting 6 forward and then press the
On/Off switch 5 and keep it pressed.
To lock on the tool, keep the On/Off switch 5
pressed and push the lock-on button 6 further for-
ward.
To switch off the machine, release the On/Off
switch 5 or, when locked with the lock-on but-
ton 6, briefly press the On/Off switch 5 and then
release.
Operating Instructions
Optimum grinding results are achieved when
the grinding wheel is moved uniformly back
and forth with light pressure.
Excess pressure reduces the efficiency of the
machine, causing the grinding wheel to wear
out faster.
Stop using out-of-round grinding wheels.
Dress with a grinding wheel dresser (acces-
sory) or replace.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Before any work on the tool itself, pull the
power plug.
For safe and proper working, always keep the
power tool and its ventilation slots clean.
Under extreme working conditions when
cutting metals, conductive dust can accu-
mulate in the interior of the machine and
impair its protective insulation. In such
cases, it is recommended to use stationary
dust extraction equipment, to blow out the
ventilation slots frequently and to power the
tool via a ground fault circuit interrupter.
If the power tool should fail despite the care taken
in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair
should be carried out by an after-sales service
center for Bosch power tools.
In all correspondence and spare parts orders,
please always include the 10-digit article number
given on the nameplate of the power tool.
Disposal
Power tools, accessories and packaging should
be sorted for environmental-friendly recycling.
