Refilling the boiler

If while steam ironing the water in the boiler becomes all used up, you will notice that the
emission of steam ceases.
Turn the appliance off by pressing the main switch E.
Unplug the appliance from the socket.
Wait for a few minutes until the boiler has cooled. Then refill it with water.
When the appliance is on, there must always be water in the boiler!

Steam ironing

When using the iron for the first time, substances used in the manufacturing process may
come out as a light smoke due to the heat. This smoke is harmless and will no longer appear.
Cleaning and care
Before using the iron for the first time, or after a long pause of say a few months, the appliance
can be "washed". Set the iron thermostat at "NYLON" and wait until the steam-ready light H
goes on.
Press the steam button I repeatedly, until water comes out of the iron soleplate holes. Keep
the iron horizontally to prevent the water from running down the soleplate. Let the water run in
a bucket or in a sink.
Wipe any water which spills over. Any water stains can be removed using a sponge for stainless
steel or a steel wool pad. In specialised shops you can also find cleaning materials for aluminium
iron soleplates. Do not use abrasive substances to clean the iron.
After cleaning, the iron soleplate will be damp inside. Set the iron at the highest temperature
••• and leave it for a few minutes to let any excess water evaporate. Direct the first steam jets
on a cloth. Every time you start ironing after a long pause, direct some steam jets on a
cloth or on the floor as the steam hose may have collected some condensation, which
turning into water may stain the garments to be ironed.
Ironing
The iron is ready when, after setting the desired temperature, the control light on the handle
goes off. The iron soleplate heats up rapidly and cools down more slowly. Therefore we
recommend you start ironing fabrics which require lower temperatures.
The steam is released by pressing the steam button I on the iron (see picture at page 10). By
pressing the button, also the suction engine of the ironing board becomes automatically
activated.
After steam ironing, the suction function can be activated to eliminate both humidity and heat
from the ironing board cover. Simply release steam by pointing the iron upwards.
By releasing the steam jet button, the suction engine will be deactivated too.
