Attachment of the crossmember

Unfasten the gas compression spring of the left support arm at the bracket and unhook it.
Open the locking mechanism on the right support arm.

2.2.1 Welded version:

With the support arms fully lowered, align the crossmember centrally and weld with one fi llet weld each all the way
around (a = 3.5 mm). We recommend the use of DIN EN 440 fi ller metals for inert gas welding, with a minimum weld
quality requirement of G 42 0. For electric arc welding, we recommend DIN EN 499 stick electrodes with a minimum
weld quality requirement of E 42 0. Then fi t the caps.
Warning:
Disconnect the control unit plugs in vehicles with anti-lock braking
systems or electronically controlled air suspension!
Components sensitive to heat must be protected or removed.

2.2.2 Bolted version:

In completely lowered condition, the crossmember is pushed through the clamping tubes of the support arms and
symmetrically clamped by tightening the hexagonal bolts. Then fi t the caps.
Tightening torque:
M 12
M = 80 Nm
