Using a rechargeable battery

You can operate the unit on the optional NP-520/F530/720/F730 rechargeable battery pack.
Before using the battery pack, you must charge it. The battery pack can be recharged about 300
times.

Charging the battery

Connect the optional AC-V515/V615 AC power
adaptor to a wall outlet.

Attach the rechargeable battery to the AC
power adaptor.
Fit and slide the battery pack in the direction of the
arrow.
The CHARGE lamp (orange) lights and charging begins.
When charging is complete
The CHARGE lamp goes out.

Detach the battery pack from the AC power
adaptor and disconnect the AC power adaptor
from the wall outlet.

Charging time

The following table shows the charging time for a battery
pack which is completely discharged. When charging is
complete, the CHARGE indicator on the AC power adaptor
goes out.

To use the battery pack at any time
You can use the battery pack even when it is half charged. Note
that the life of the battery pack will be shorter in this case than
if you use it fully charged.
To charge the battery pack installed to this unit
You can charge the battery pack while it is installed to this unit.
Connect the AC power adaptor to the unit and a wall outlet,
and turn off the unit. It takes the same charging time as in the
table above.
You can also charge two battery packs simultaneously; one
installed to the unit and another installed to the AC power
adaptor. It takes twice the charging time as in the table above.

• For charging, use the

(MPS-VS500/VS500P) only.
• When you use the battery
for the first time or after a
long period of disuse, the battery
life may be
diminished. The battery life
will be restored by charging
and discharging it several
times.
• The remaining capacity indicator
on the NP-F530/F730 does not
function with this unit.
