3.1

mAchINe fuNcTIoN

The following section contains a brief description of the overall
function of the machine.
This manual gives information for both ProMark
i
200 and ProMark 250 models. Any differences in
function between the two models will be noted.
ProMark 98:2 industrial road marking machines are high-
pressure spraying units driven by a gasoline engine.
The gasoline engine is the central power supply for the entire
system, providing power to all of its necessary auxilliary
equipment, such as the hydraulic pump and air compressor.

hyDrAulIc pump

The gasoline engine (Fig. 1, item 1) drives the hydraulic
pump (2) by means of a V-belt located under the belt cover
(3). Hydraulic oil flows from the pump (1) to the hydraulic
motor (4) and causes the piston inside the fluid section (5)
to stroke up and down.
The inlet valve is opened automatically by the upwards
movement of the piston. The outlet valve is opened when
the piston moves downward.
This movement draws material from the material container,
though the siphon hose and delivers it to the mixing block
(6), where it is mixed with the BPO (Benzoyl Peroxide) and
delivered to the spray gun(s).
The hydraulic motor movement also provides power and
movement to the BPO pump (7) which in turn provides
pressure to the BPO tank (8) which feeds BPO catalyst to
the mixing block.
The BPO tank contains liquid Benzoyl Peroxide, which acts
as a catalyst for the spray material. It gets delivered to the
mixing block where it mixes with the spray material and is
delivered to the spray gun(s) via the mixing hose and static
mixing tube.

AIr compreSSor

The gasoline engine also drives the air compressor (9). The
air compressor provides air power to the bead dispenser
(10), and the solvent flush (located directly behind the
bead dispenser and is unseen in the graphic).
