15.8. Remote enquiry

You can listen to messages via an external telephone using the remote
enquiry function. The remote enquiry function is activated in the factory
settings with the default PIN number "0000".
15.8.1. Switching off the remote enquiry function
 Select REMOTE ACC. and confirm with OK.
 Select OFF and confirm with OK.
15.8.2. Switching on the remote enquiry function
 Select REMOTE ACC. and confirm with OK.
 Select ON and confirm with OK.
15.8.3. Changing the remote enquiry PIN
The PIN is a password and is used to prevent strangers from using the remote
enquiry function on your answering machine. If the remote enquiry function
is switched on, you must enter the PIN and then you can change it.
NOTE!
This PIN is not identical to the system PIN (see "16.3.6. System PIN"
on page 182) .
 Select CHANGE PIN and confirm with OK.
 Confirm PIN? with OK, enter the old PIN (factory setting: 0000) and
confirm with OK.
 Confirm NEW PIN? with OK, enter the new PIN and confirm with
OK.
 Enter the new PIN again and confirm with OK.
15.8.4. Playing back messages from a different telephone
extension
 Call your telephone number and press the star key * on the telephone
during the greeting message.
 Enter your remote enquiry PIN now with the number keys.
The number keys on the telephone can also serve as the control keys for the
answering machine.
Below is a list of which keys can be used to send which commands to the
answering machine.
