Warnings
Be sure to read and understand all warnings listed below.
Patient Care Warnings
• Use temperature probes only under direct supervision of a licensed and
trained healthcare professional.
• Before use, clean and disinfect temperature probes and optional
connector cables.
• Before use, inspect and replace damaged or deteriorated temperature
probes and optional connector cables.
• When using these probes, follow standard application practices
recommended by your medical facility.
• Connect temperature probes only to monitors that use 400-Series probe
technology.
• To avoid patient injury:
1. Do NOT apply these temperature probes to patients who are
undergoing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures.
2. Always use caution when applying, inserting, or removing a
temperature probe from a patient.
3. Assure that probe and optional connector cable are not positioned
where they could become entangled around patient, or cause
choking, strangulation, or inhibit circulation in extremities.
4. Assure that probe and optional connector cable are not positioned
where they could become entangled around IV tubes and restrict
IV flow.
RF Energy and Electrosurgical (ESU) Warnings
All wire-lead patient-connected sensor assemblies (including temperature
probes) are subject to reading error, local heating and possible damage
from high intensity sources of RF energy. Electrosurgical (ESU) equiment
represents one such source. Capacitively coupled currents may seek
