8 - MAINTENANCE
8.15 - CLEANING OF THE EXCHANGER
LIMESTONE
The plate heat exchanger must be cleaned whenever the
domestic hot water filling time exceeds the normal rate.
The frequency depends of the quality of the water.
If necessary, fit a water softener to reduce water hardness.
Cleaning in 2 stages:
Wash the exchanger
Limestone deposits of discharge in the DHW storage tank
EXCHANGER CLEANING.
The desincrustation treatments must be carried out by
qualified personnel.
Material needed:
Pump for desincrustation
Liquid recovery tank
The desincrustation liquid
Liquid for neutralization
1. Turn the system's main switch to 'off'
2. Close the aqueduct tap (A)
3. Close B and C storage tank shut-off valves
4. Remove pump (D)
5. Remove the drain plug from the shut-off valve (C)

6. Connect pipes D and E
7. Follow the instructions for the equipment and the liquids
used
8. Perform clearing (G)
9. Perform the neutralization with liquid
10. Run repeated washing with water
11. Disconnect desincrustation pump (G).
12. Put the plug to the shut-off valve (C)
13. Put the pump (D)
