How to install your RECARO seat
Risk of injury during installation
RECARO seats may only be installed
by professionally trained personnel.
Authorisation to handle pyrotechnic
restraint systems in a workshop and
storage area in accordance with the
laws governing explosives is required
for conversion work on belt tensioners
and installation work on side airbags
and their control lines.
Improper installation seriously impairs
the protective function of the RECARO
seat.
Therefore, always proceed according to
the installation instructions included
with the console. Please consult your
dealer if you have any questions.
Risk of fire
An electrical connection performed
improperly can lead to short-circuits!
This can cause fires in your vehicle
and thus considerable risk to your
safety, health and, in the worst case,
your life itself.
Please note:
It takes care, patience and precision to
install a seat. Before commencing instal-
lation, ensure that you have parked the
vehicle safely and that you maintain a sure
footing at all times when carrying out the
work.

Take the required installation parts from the
accompanying polythene bag.
The connection to the vehicle electrical
system depends on the vehicle type. The
accompanying connection parts will fit the
majority of vehicle types.
Included with the seat are:
1 cable harness with plugs (5)
–
1 ring tongue (4) (earth connection)
–
1 flat-pin bushing (power connection)
–
1 fuse holder (3) with 2 flat-pin bushings
–
(2) and a 15 A fuse
Risk of short circuits
Disconnect the vehicle battery before
commencing with
installation.
Connect the accompanying cable harness
(5) to the 2-pin plug (1) on the seat.
Take the adjustment possibilities of the
seat into consideration when laying the
cable.
Earth connection (–):
Mount the ring tongue (4) on the end of the
brown cable (–). Connect it to an earthing
point on the vehicle body.
Power connection (+):
The red cable (+) must be connected to a
terminal with ignition-current interruption.
