Basic alignment of the setting device
with relation to the test stand
i
This section describes how the setting device is ad-
justed to suit the characteristics of the test stand. The
setting device must be aligned in accordance with the
inclination of the test stand.
6.4.1

Preparatory measures

The following measures must be performed before you
commence with the basic alignment of the setting device:
1. Check the tyre pressure and correct if necessary.
2. Drive the test vehicle onto the test stand in such a
way that the left side of the vehicle is over the centre
of the test stand. The vehicle must, as far as possible,
be at right angles to the rail.
i
If the angle of the vehicle's driving axis in relation to
the rail deviates by > 5°, the basic alignment cannot
be established (using the setting device).
3. Next, check that the ACC sensor is at the required
distance (120 cm +/- 5 cm) from the mirror.
6.4.2

Alignment

For basic alignment, the mirror must be vertically aligned
with the axis of the test stand.

1. Position the setting device in the middle of the rail.
2. Fix the setting device in place on the rail. To do so, first
pull the locking lever on the right-hand carry handle to
release the clamp. Now place the setting device pre-
cisely on the rail with the clamp open. Release the lever
once more to fix the setting device in place on the rail.
