SPECIFIC MARKING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ATEX

An example of ATEX equipment marking is shown hereunder for
information. Dedicated ATEX classification is engraved on pump
nameplate and indicated in the ATEX additive :
II-2Gc(x)-Exd-IIBT4
With :
EQUIPMENT GROUP :
II = Non-mining
CATEGORY :
2 = high protection (zone 1)
3 = normal protection (zone 2)
GAS or DUST :
G = Gas
Those pumps are not « D » Dust certified.
PUMP PROTECTION :
c = safe by construction
X = respect special instruction for equipment integration
MOTOR ENCLOSURE :
Exd = flameproof
Exd(e) = flameproof frame and increased safety junction box
GAS GROUP :
IIA - Propane
IIB - Ethylene
IIC - Hydrogen
MAXIMUM SURFACE TEMPERATURE (Temperature class to ATEX
94/9/EC) :
T1 = 450°C
T2 = 300°C
T3 = 200°C
T4 = 135°C
T5 = 100°C
T6 = 85°C
T(x) = variable temperature or pump used in several areas.

GENERAL.

3.1 APPLICATION AND FLUIDS.

NORMA V are used to transfer a large variety of fluids. Vertical column
design allows installation of pump on dip vessels or caissons installation.
This design avoids many priming problems and permits high discharge
pressure.
NORMA V pumps are designed to transfer clear fluids without particles.
Pumping other products with this pump is possible but application and
pumping conditions must be approved by our technical department and
specified on the acknowledgement of order. It is necessary to use filters
or other devices to avoid solid parts coming through the pump. Installed
power must be chosen regarding fluid viscosity and specific gravity.

3.2 DESCRIPTION.

Pump is single stage volute type. Pump speed depending on pump type
and size is 1450 tr/mn or 2900 tr/mn.
Suction flange is vertical and discharge flange is radial connected to a
vertical discharge pipe. Standard pump can be fastened on a rectangular
pit. Other footprints are possible on request (ISO, ANSI flange, specific
design, ...)
Materials :
 Casing SS 316 or EN GJL250 cast iron
 Spacer SS 316L or steel.
 Rod string SS 316L or Z20C13 steel.
 SS 316 or Duplex steel open impeller or EN GJL250 closed radial
impeller.
 Several sizes "O" (height under matting flange) are available : 420, 720,
1020 and 1620 mm are standard dimensions. Other dimensions upon
request.
Constructions :
There are three different motor assemblies coming with a single
hydraulic type :
VCS : adjustable pump tubing coming through matting flange. A cast iron
made clamp is used to fasten tubing on the fabricated base plate. Height
of suction flange can be adjusted by sliding tubing through this clamp.
Electric motor is fastened on upper spacer flange. This assembly allows
powers up to 9KW. Coupling is direct type between motor shaft and
pump rod.
VEM : cast iron pedestal between base plate and motor flange. This
assembly allows powers up to 18,5KW. No possible adjustment of pump
height. Coupling is direct type between motor shaft and pump rod.
