BLUETOOTH OPERATION

Bluetooth® as launched by a special interest group (SIG) comprised of Ericsson
Inc , Intel Corp , Nokia Corp , Toshiba and IBM in 1998, and it is currently de eloped
by nearly 2,000 companies orld ide The Bluetooth® ord mark and logos
are o ned by the Bluetooth SIG, Inc and any use of such marks by Audio o

Bluetooth® technology has the capability to irelessly synchronize and transfer data
among de ices The Bluetooth® audio capabilities can be used for mobile phones
hands free applications Bluetooth® has many pro les and the unit is compatible ith
most Bluetooth® enabled mobile phones Before attempting to use the Bluetooth®
functions on the unit, please make sure your mobile phone supports Bluetooth®
functions
NOTE: The line-of-sight distance between this unit and your mobile phone must
be 8 feet (2.4 meters) or less for sending and receiving voice and data via
Bluetooth® wireless technology.
Please make sure your mobile phone supports Bluetooth® functions (Headset
or Handsfree pro les or both) Adhere to the follo ing guidelines for successful
operation:
Before using Bluetooth® functions, you must pair your mobile phone to the
VME 942 head unit (see "Pairing the Bluetooth® System ith Your Mobile Phone
and Head Unit") To ensure the best reception for pairing and reconnection, please
make sure the phone battery is fully charged before you begin
Try to perform pairing ithin a fe minutes of the phone being turned on
Once the unit has been paired ith the phone, the unit's model number, "VME
942 ", ill be displayed on the mobile phone
To achie e the best performance, al ays keep the mobile phone ithin
3 meters of the head unit
Al ays keep a clear path bet een the mobile phone and the head unit Ne er
place a metal object or any other obstacle bet een the mobile phone and the head
unit
Some mobile phones (like Sony Ericsson) may ha e a "Po er Sa ing Mode"
option PLEASE DO NOT use the po er sa ing mode ith the VME 942
Before accepting or making a call, make sure your mobile phone's "Bluetooth
function" is turned on
To ensure the best con ersation quality/performance, stay ithin one meter of the
microphone hen talking
To "disconnect" the mobile phone from the head unit, turn the Bluetooth®
connecti ity off on the mobile phone or touch the
button
