• Press the insertion probes (3) all the way into the wood as shown in the
figure.
• The temperature sensor determines the temperature of the measured
object and takes into account the temperature of the measured object and
environment in its measurement of the wood moisture level. Do not touch
the sensor with your finger while the measurement is in progress. This can
falsify the measured values.
• Press the MODE button
(8) briefly to switch between displaying the maximum and minimum value and
the actual measured value. The "MAX" and "MIN" symbols are displayed together with the corresponding
numerical value. If neither the "MAX" nor "MIN" symbol appears on the LC display (5), the displayed value
is the current measured value. The respective wood moisture in displayed as a "%".
• Press the HOLD BL button
(7) once briefly to freeze a measured value on the LC display (5).
• Press the HOLD BL button
(7) twice briefly to release a measured valued on the LC display (5) and
carry out a new measurement.
Carefully pull the insertion probes out of the wood. Move the insertion probes back and forth
slowly in the direction of the grain to loosen them. This avoids the risk of damaging the insertion
probes.
d) Backlight
• If the backlight is switched off, press and hold the HOLD BL button
backlight on. The LC display (5) is illuminated by white LEDs.
• If the backlight is switched on, press and hold the HOLD BL button
backlight off. The LC display (5) is no longer illuminated.
e) Setting automatic shut-off
In automatic shut-off mode, the measuring device switches off automatically if no button is pressed for 5
minutes. You can switch automatic shut-off on or off. Proceed as follows:
• Press and hold the MODE button
(8) once to switch automatic shut-off on. The automatic shut-off
symbol (11) appears on the LC display (5). The measuring device switches off automatically if not operated
for 5 minutes.
• Press and hold the MODE button
(8) twice to switch automatic shut-off off. The automatic shut-off
symbol (11) disappears from the LC display (5). The measuring device remains on, even if not operated
for more than 5 minutes.

The moisture content of a tree varies according to climatic conditions, geographical location and
micro location, but also in different parts of the tree.
Maintenance
• You can replace the insertion probes if they become worn by frequent use. Contact our technical customer
service for the availability of replacement insertion sensors.

Care and cleaning

• Always disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning it.
• Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these could damage the
housing or stop the product from functioning properly.
• Use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth to clean the product.
• Use only clean water to the dampen the cloth.

Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste. At
the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.
Remove any inserted batteries and dispose of them separately from the product.
b) Batteries
You are required by law to return all used batteries (Battery Directive). Batteries must not be
placed in household waste.
Batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with this symbol to indicate that disposal
in household waste is forbidden. The abbreviations for heavy metals in batteries are: Cd =
Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (indicated on the battery, e.g. below the waste bin icon on
the left).
Used batteries can be returned to local collection points, our stores or battery retailers.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to protection of the environment.
