5.2.3 Retooling for wheels without centre
bore
In order to centre and clamp rims without centre
bore or motor-cycle wheels on a p balancer, the
MZV-p device can be re-placed with the clamping
means SCA (ref. EAA0260D82A), or motorcycle
wheel adaptor "Motorbike base Flange" respectively.
Before retooling move the clamping jaws into
unclamped position (arrow, Fig. 9).
Release the power clamping device
Slightly untighten the two hexagon screws (1, Fig. 9 –
fl at wrench 13 mm) and readjust the bayonet disc (2,
Fig.9) so that the screw heads are allowed to come
out easily when the basic body of the clamping device
is fi nally removed.
Use a plastic hammer to release the basic body (3,
Fig.9) from the clamping cone and pull forward until the
hexagon screws have come out of the bayonet disc.
Remove the clamping device (Fig. 10).
Operate the main shaft lock and unscrew the clamping
device by hand from the tie rod.
Mount the desired clamping device SCA (Fig. 11).
For fi tting the motorcycle wheel adaptor "p" see the
separate fi tting and operating instructions.
Prepare the clamping device as described in the
separate manual enclosed with every device.
With the tie rod extended (2, Fig. 11), place the
clamping device on the cone of the main shaft and
press it against the cone (1, Fig. 11).
Screw the taper nut (3, Fig. 11) supplied with every p
model balancer onto the tie rod to the end of the thread.
3

So as not to release the clamping device or damage
the tie rod, set the mode of operation C22 to status On
Releasing the power clamping device is disabled.
