HARNESS fig. 10
The ACTIVE ergonomic harness has been designed to
ensure unparalleled comfort and work in full safety.
In order to exploit the advanced technology of this type of
machine, adjust the harness properly.
WARNING:
The machine weight shall be supported
by cushion (A), fig.10
- Connect harness (21) to the machine using spring hooks
(19)
- Wear the harness, and place pad (A) at the center of
your shoulder.
- Adjust the machine position, by pulling or loosening
belts (B), fig. 10.
COLD CLIMATE DEVICE fig.2
If the outdoor temperature is less than +5ºC, mount air
deflector (1) by means of 3 screws (2) (see the drawing).
WARNING
When the outdoor temperature is more than +5ºC,
disassemble air deflector (1) to prevent engine
overheating.
FUEL
WARNING: the machine is equipped with a two-stroke
engine; therefore, use only fuel mixed with oil.
Prepare only the mixture required for use. Us fuel with an
octane index not below 90.
Important: mix the fuel inside the tank thoroughly and for a
long time; repeat this step whenever you use the tank fuel. The
mixture characteristics are subject to aging and are likely to
change over the time (except for any mixture containing
ACTIV Echenon oil, that will last 12 months). Do not use
any mixture prepared several weeks ago, since it cold
damage the engine. Fill the ¾ of the tank with mixture, to allow
for fuel expansion.
ENGINE OIL fig. 11/A
Use 2-stroke ACTIVE oil, that has been specifically
produced to obtain optimum results (1:50 or 2%). If the
ACTIVE oil is not available, use another 2-stroke good-
quality oil (at least "API TC" class, 25:1 or 4%); see the
tables in Fig. 11/A
Poor-quality fuel or oil are likely to damage engine, piston
segments and seals.
7. PREPARING FOR USE
REFUELLING
WARNING: Do not fill fuel tank while engine is
running. Carefully clean the area around the plug before
refuelling. Unscrew the tank plug slowly, to let excess
pressure out. Tighten the tank plug carefully after refuelling.
START-UP
- Place the machine on a flat surface, and check that the
transmission shaft and the hook are not engaged.
- Move thw switch to (1) fig.6.
- Move starter lever (A) to (B) fig.4/A
- Press bulb (D) 5 or 6 times fig.4/A
- Press lever (B), in order to lock accelerator levr (A) in the half-
acceleration position, and simultaneously pull accelerator
lever (A) slightly fig.6
- Hold the machine and pull the cord; when the engine starts
move starter lever (A) to the initial "open" position (C). Repeat
if necessary.
- Once the engine has been started set it to minimum.
WARNING: when the engine is warm, do not press
bulb (D),
fig.4/A, and do not use starter (A) fig.4/A, to strat the engine.
Do not release the cord suddenly (to prevent damaging the
starter unit).
ENGINE STOP
- Move accelerator lever (A), fig. 6, to minimum position, and
wait for a few seconds, to let the engine cool down.
- Move the switch to the stop position (0), fig. 6.
WARNING: with the engine at minimum speed (2600
± 3000 rpm), the transmission shaft shall not work.
If the minimum is nevertheless excessive, unscrew screw (F),
fig. 4, anticlockwise.
RUNNING-IN
- Do not run the motor at full speed before the fourth refuelling.
A new engine has a greater friction resistance, and therefore
produces more heat.
- The engine reaches maximum power only after 10 ± 15
refuelling operations.
WARNING: NEVER DECREASE THE CARBURETTOR
ADJUSTMENT (the engine could be damaged).
