• Position no. 3: Duty cycling module with a termi-
• Position no. 4: Contactor
• Position no. 5: Thermal motor protection relay
• Position no. 6: Transformer card with control
For the power supply card, see Fig. 4:
• Position no. 1: Primary transformer fuses
• Position no. 2: Secondary transformer fuses
• Position no. 3: Power supply voltage selector
For the duty cycling module, see Fig. 5, 6 and 7:
• It is possible to choose between 2 duty cycling
modes. To do so, choose between the 2 available
modules:
• Figure no. 5: Lower part of the module
• Figure no. 6: "BC control" duty cycling module
• Figure no. 7: Bypass module for "BC control"
For the pressure controllers, see Fig. 8:
• The 2 pressure controllers enable the 2 pumps to
be activated and deactivated automatically:
• Position no. 1: Nut for adjusting the switch-off
• Position no. 2: Nut for adjusting the deviation
6.2.3 Collector tanks
The 2 collector tanks have a diameter of 2" and are
threaded at each end.
6.2.4 Protection against low water level
A low water protection device should be used (this
sensor is not delivered with the pressure-boosting
system).
This device should be connected in the switchgear
on the lower part of the connection where a digital
input is available (see Fig. 5, pos. 1 and 2).
Depending on the water supply mode for the
pressure-boosting system, the device can
either be:
• A pressure controller to mount on the suction
collector tank, or
• A float switch to install in the reservoir.
NOTICE:
Reactivating the pressure-boosting system must
be delayed for 5 seconds after deactivation due to
low water (water return).

6.3 Function of the product

6.3.1 Operation
a) With the "BC control" duty cycling module:
If the pressure drops and reaches the setting value
for the P1 pressure controller, pump 1 is activated.
If the pressure continues to drop and reaches
the setting value for the P2 pressure controller,
pump 2 is then also activated.
Subsequently, the pressure rises and reaches the
setting value for the P2 pressure controller, so
pump 2 is deactivated. The pressure continues to
rise and reaches the setting value for the P1 pres-
sure controller, so pump 1 is in turn deactivated.
To obtain an equal operation of the pumps, duty
cycling in the order of activation operates after
each deactivation of the priority pump.
The "BC control" duty cycling module provides the
option of adding a follow-up time before the
complete deactivation of the pressure-boosting
system. This additional function is generally used
to optimise tank filling.
To achieve this, a long press of the button (Fig. 6,
pos. 1) enables the function to be activated and
deactivated. While the function is activated, the
LED (Fig. 6, pos. 2) is illuminated.
While the function is activated, and if the pressure
is sufficient, a follow-up time of 60 seconds is
added before the pressure-boosting system
switches off completely.
While the function is disabled, the pressure-
boosting system switches off as soon as the
pressure is sufficient.
b) With the "BC control" bypass module:
It is possible to avoid a malfunction of the "BC
control" duty cycling module by replacing this
with the bypass module.
This means that duty cycling no longer takes place
and pressure controller 1 drives pump 1 while
pressure controller 2 drives pump 2.
Operating mode
A change-over switch for each pump arranged in
front of the switchgear (Fig. 2, pos. 4) enables the
operating mode to be selected:
• 0 mode: The pump is switched off.
• Manual mode: The pump is operated while the
change-over switch is held in this position.
Once released, the change-over switch returns
to 0 mode automatically.
• Automatic mode: All the pressure-boosting
system functions are activated.
Magnetic malfunction
A magnetic circuit breaker (Fig. 3, pos. 2) protects
the motor against short-circuits.
Thermal malfunction
A thermal relay protects each motor. Protection
against motor overload is guaranteed by a thermal
relay (Fig. 3, pos. 5).
