8 Commissioning

We recommend that you arrange for initial com-
missioning of your pressure-boosting system to
be conducted by your closest Wilo customer ser-
vice agent or simply contact our central customer
service.
CAUTION!
Never let the module run dry for more than
a few seconds. Dry running destroys the
pump's mechanical seal, which ensures its
impermeability.
The wiring, more specifically the earthing, must
be checked before activating the system for the
first time.
CAUTION!
Tighten all the supply terminals before commis-
sioning the unit!

8.1 Inflating the tank

Inflate the empty tank at a pressure 0.3 bar below
the pressure that activates the pumps.
CAUTION!
Do not exceed the tank's maximum pre-
inflation value.
8.2 Filling – degassing
Connected to the municipal water mains or the
reservoir
• Check the source of the water supply (sufficiently
full reservoir or appropriate municipal water
supply).
• Open the supply valve on the pressure-boosting
system to take in water.
• Unscrew the filler screws (see Fig. 1, pos. 5) on the
pumps and wait until the water flows freely before
closing them again.
• Hold the change-over switch (see Fig. 2, pos. 4)
in the "MANU" position to check the priming.
If needed, test the pumps one at a time.
Suction over the reservoir
• Close the valve on the discharge side.
• Open the suction valve.
• Unscrew the filler screws and remove these
(see Fig. 1, pos. 5).
• Insert a funnel into the opening and completely fill
the pumps and the suction pipe.
• After the water output and air drainage, the filling
is complete.
• Screw the filler screws back in.
• Turn the change-over switch (see Fig. 2, pos. 4) to
"MANU" to check the priming. If needed, test the
pumps one at a time.

8.3 Direction of rotation for the motors

The electrical connection between the pumps and
the switchgear is made in the factory. However, in
the three-phase version, the correct direction
of rotation must be checked by completing the
following steps:
• Ensure that the pressure-boosting system has
a water supply.
• Turn the change-over switches for the pumps
(see Fig. 2, pos. 4) to "OFF".
• Engage the switch amplifier.
• Turn the change-over switch for pump 1 to
"MANUAL" and the pump must start (indicator
light illuminated on the switchgear); check the
correct direction of rotation for the motor; turn
the change-over switch back to "OFF".
• Carry out the same process for pump 2.
• If the direction is incorrect, swap the 2 phase
wires.
WARNING! Risk of electrical shock!
Before swapping the phases, cut the power
supply using the system's main on/off switch!
• After completing this operation, turn the change-
over switches for the pumps back to "OFF".

8.4 Settings

8.4.1 Adjustments of the pressure controllers
The adjustment is carried out by turning the nut
(Fig. 8, pos. 1) for reaching the high point (deacti-
vation of the pump) and the nut (Fig. 8, pos. 2) for
adjusting the pressure differential (starting up the
pump).
• Turning the nut (Fig. 8, pos. 1) clockwise increases
the high point value.
• Turning the nut (Fig. 8, pos. 1) clockwise
decreases the low point value (the deviation
increases).
Before carrying out the pressure controller adjust-
ments, select the operating and switch-off pres-
sures. If needed, use the data charts (Fig. 8, On
pressure-Off pressure).
