7 Installation and hydraulics connection

7.1 Location

The pressure-boosting system must be installed
in a location that is easily accessible, with standard
ventilation and protected against frost. Ensure
that access to the location allows for cabling of
the pressure-boosting system.
Ensure that there is adequate space for mainte-
nance and repair work, suction dimensions and
discharge.

7.2 Installation

Install on a smooth, level floor or on a concrete
block and fix it into place using anchor bolts. Use
an insulating material under the concrete block
(cork or reinforced rubber) to avoid any noise from
the water circulation.

7.3 Hydraulic connection

CAUTION!
Observe the water supply companies' require-
ments and the currently valid local standard.
- The connection of the suction and discharge
manifolds may be carried out either on the right or
the left; the unused openings must be blocked up
using plugs (not supplied).
- Use valves on the collector tanks to isolate the
module if work needs to be carried out.
- The unit must be equipped with at least 1
pressure tank to be installed for discharge of the
pressure-boosting system.
- The on-site piping must be installed without any
mechanic stress.
For this, it is advisable to use damping hoses or
flexible connection pipes to prevent the deforma-
tion of the rigid connections and reduce the trans-
ference of vibrations from the device towards the
building.
Connected to the municipal water mains
Ensure that the system can withstand the maxi-
mum pump pressure at 0 flow rate plus the munic-
ipal water pressure. If this is not the case, connect
a pressure reducer to the output of the pressure-
boosting system.
We strongly recommend connection of a differen-
tial pressure control device to the module input on
the water supply line to avoid any pressure fluctu-
ations in the flow into the module.
Connected to the reservoir
Ensure that the system can withstand the maxi-
mum pump pressure at 0 flow rate plus the
reservoir pressure. If this is not the case, connect
a pressure reducer to the output of the pressure-
boosting system after the tank.

Suction over the reservoir
Ensure that the friction losses do not exceed the
pumps' maximum suction capacity. It is advisable
to use a foot valve suction strainer with piping
of equal or greater dimensions than the nominal
suction diameter.

7.4 Electrical connection

WARNING! Risk of electrical shock!
Electrical connection must be performed by an
engineer/electrician approved by the local
energy supplier and in accordance with current
local regulations.
When making the electrical connection, it is cru-
cial that the installation and operating instruc-
tions and the circuit diagrams provided are
followed accordingly. In general, the following
aspects must be observed:
• The current type and the mains connection
voltage must correspond to the characteristics
detailed on the rating plate and the wiring diagram
for the switchgear.
• As a protection measure, the pressure-boosting
system must be earthed in accordance with
regulations (i.e. in accordance with local regula-
tions and conditions); the connections for this
purpose are marked accordingly (also see the
wiring diagram).
7.4.1 Power supply cable
The electrical connection cable must be correctly
dimensioned according to the total power of the
pressure-boosting system (see the rating plate).
The switchgear may not be connected to another
voltage than that indicated in the description of
the product (see 5.2 Technical data).
NOTICE:
If you require more details, a circuit diagram is
provided inside the switchgear.
CAUTION!
Do not forget to connect the earth terminal.
7.4.2 Low water protection
An on/off input (250 V 2 A) (Fig. 5) protects the
pressure-boosting system against low water;
a pressure controller (contact normally open)
or a floater must be connected to this input.
CAUTION!
Do not apply external voltage to the terminals.
