6. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDELINE

Please see the table below if you experience any problems with the Omnicharge
charger and/or the installation.
Problem
Omnicharge is not working at
all.
The battery is not being
charged up to it's maximum
capacity.
Charge current is too low.
Possible cause
AC input voltage is out of
range or not available. (Error
codes E01 or E02 in display?)
Remote switch has de-
activated the charger, or
wire link is missing at the
remote on/off input
terminals of the charger.
Poor contact between the
charger battery wires and
the battery terminals.
Blown DC fuse. (Error code
E08 in display?)
Very poor battery condition.
Incorrect absorption charge
voltage setting.
Incorrect charge current
setting.
Too much voltage loss in
battery cables and/or
connections.
Additional battery loads are
consuming too much current
during charging.
High ambient temperature.

Remedy
Make sure the AC input
voltage is available and
within the operating range of
the charger.
Check if the remote bypass
switch is set correctly. Or
check if a wire link is placed
between the two remote
on/off input terminals.
Clean battery terminals or
charger wire contacts.
Tighten battery terminal
screws.
Check battery fuse or
charger output fuses.
Replace battery.
Check the battery type
selection for correct setting.
Or adjust the absorption
voltage.
Make sure that the
maximum output current
setting is at maximum level
(check if allowed by battery
manufacturer).
Make sure that the battery
cables have a large enough
diameter. Check if all DC
connections are solidly
made.
Turn-off or disconnect all
battery loads.
Try to lower the ambient
temperature around the
charger.
