Print Functions

Press the PRINT button on the station to start the
following operations:

Downloading Pictures

The pictures displayed on the camera are downloaded
to the station at a transfer speed of up to 230 kbps.
While the download is in progress, no picture is shown
on the LCD of the camera. The LCD of the station
shows the "TRANSFER IMAGE" message.
1 Tips
The picture data saved in the camera is compressed.
Depending on the JPEG compression rate, each picture
is about 70 kB (S mode), about 220 kB (Hi-2 mode) or
up to about 430 kB (Hi-1 mode). The time required for
data transmission from the camera to the station
depends on the file size as shown in the table. When
the download is completed, the playback picture and
the H/S mode appear on the LCD. Then the H/S mode
indication disappears, and the camera is ready for
selection of the next picture or shooting.

1 Tips
The LCD of the station shows the "SET CAMERA" or
"REPRINT OK [EXEC]/CANCEL [MENU]" message
if you press the PRINT button while the camera is not
connected to the station. The "SET CAMERA"
message is shown when no picture data has been sent
to the station. The latter message is shown when a
picture data remains in the station. The latter message
may also be shown when the setting of the PLAY/
CAMERA switch is changed. In that case, press the
MENU button to select CANCEL and press the
PRINT button again.

Image Processing

When the transmission from the camera is completed,
the station starts JPEG decompression and layout work
for the selected SPLIT mode. The LCD of the station
shows the "PROCESSING IMAGE" message. After
the processing time, the station is released and
becomes ready to receive the next picture. The LCD
of the camera shows a picture again. The processing
time is greatly affected by the H/S mode and the
SPLIT mode.
1 Tips
Because of a time lag, the camera does not accept any
operation commands for about five seconds after the
LCD of the camera is restored.

Printer Output

After the layout work, the station sends the data to the
printer. The PRINT indicator of the printer blinks in
green.
The printer then executes the printing operation and
outputs the printed pictures in about 77 seconds.
