When finished taking pictures
Set the POWER switch to OFF to save battery power.
Auto-focus function
Pressing the release button halfway activates the auto-focus function. The
focus is locked upon a short beep. Pressing this button further releases the
shutter. The photographed picture is compressed in JPEG format and
recorded in the camera memory.
Note
The auto-focus function may not work properly in any of the situations
below:
• The subject lacks enough contrast.
• The subject includes an extremely bright object.
• The subject has no horizontal line.

Once the focus is locked, it is kept locked while you hold the release
button pressed halfway. To readjust the focus, release the release button
and press it halfway again.

The auto-focus function is activated whenever you press the release button,
halfway or fully.

In CAMERA mode, pressing the release button halfway restores the
camera from power save mode.
This camera is designed to produce the best possible picture when used in
AUTO mode (AUTO/MAN mode selection is set to AUTO).
In AUTO mode, the exposure, aperture, and white balance are set to the
optimum values when the flash mode is set to A , ,

Exposure settings
This camera is adjusted so that the optimum brightness is obtained with the

The brightness can be changed with the exposure settings changed.
