3 Use

3.4 Steam cleaning

WARNING:
Danger of scalding! Take care that parts of your body never get under
the base of the appliance. Never steam clean barefoot.
WARNING:
Danger of electric shock! In addition, do not steam clean close to sock-
ets, cables, pipes and the like.
WARNING:
Danger of falling! Be particularly careful when cleaning stairs. Only use
minimal steam on smooth surfaces.
CAUTION:
Before steam cleaning, check that there is enough water in the water
tank. If it is not full enough, fill it,
Also ensure that the pad and the micro-fibre cloth have been attached.
CAUTION:
Before starting cleaning, ensure that the surface to be cleaned is suita-
ble for steam cleaning. Always follow the cleaning recommendations of
the material manufacturer.
The appliance is definitely not suitable for steam cleaning uncoated
wooden floors, soft plastics, and high-quality furnishings. Only steam
clean even sealed wooden floors lightly and never remain too long on
the same spot.
3.5 After steam cleaning
WARNING:
Danger of bacteria developing and danger of injury! Follow the following
instructions to prevent accidents and damage to property:
1. Switch off the appliance after steam cleaning ( ).
2. Pull the plug out of the plug socket.
3. Use up remaining steam reserves.
4. Put the appliance into the neutral position (Fig. 21).
5. Wind up the power cord (Fig. 22–24).
6. Let the appliance cool off for about five minutes.
7. Take off the pad and micro-fibre cloth (Fig. 8).
8. Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children.

CAUTION:
Only use the appliance on surfaces that can withstand the high temper-
ature, pressure and damp of hot steam. Cold materials can shatter as a
result of heat shock.
NOTE:
Ventilate the area sufficiently during and after work to counteract the
high humidity.
1. Wind up the cord completely and fix the last loop of cable to the clip on
the handle (Fig. 13).
2. Insert the mains plug into a socket with ground/safety contact.
3. Fold down the base of the appliance. It should now rest on the floor in-
dependently of the position of the handle.
4. Switch on the steam function using the on/off switch ( ) (Fig. 25).
The accompanying LED goes on.
5. Wait for about 30–45 seconds (Fig. 26).
6. Press the steam button on the handle of the appliance (Fig. 27/magnifier).
The pump starts up and steam comes out a little later (Fig. 27).
7. Now clean the floor in strips (Fig. 28).
CAUTION:
Do not stick to the same area for too long. Otherwise the floor might be
damaged.

CAUTION:
Put away the appliance as follows to get the must out of it:
Only put away the appliance after it has cooled and dried.
To be on the safe side, store the appliance on a water-resistant surface.
Always store the appliance in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing it to
direct sunlight. Also avoid temperatures around freezing point or below.
If you intend to store the appliance for a longer period of time, empty
the water tank and let it dry.
Never store the appliance with a used micro-fibre cloth.
