b - Creating the tip
1 - Place screw 2 into pot 3.
2 - Lock the indexing rod (40°).
3 - Bring the cuter backwards using the knurled knob.
4 - Loosen the locking handle.
5 - Move the tool-holder to the T marker.
6 - Tighten up the locking handle.
Using your left hand, turn the depth adjusting knob to bring the tip of the cutter gradually into contact with the grinding
wheel. The motor should be immobile.
The adjusting knob is made up of two washers :
- 1 ordinary knurled knob,
- 1 scaled knurled knob.
To locate your tangent, hold the first knob with your left hand and with your right, turn the knob so the zero is opposite
the marker.
You are now ready to create the tip of your choice.
Example : For a tip of 0.32.
- Remove your cutter from the grinding shaft.
- Start up the motor.
- Move the tip back and forth across the entire surface of the grinding wheel.
- Simaltaneously turn the two depth adjusting knobs in your left hand by 5 degrees.
Attention !
If your tip is a reasonable size, do not use depth passes of more than 2 scales at
once.
