α clearance angle
The larger the clearance angle (about 50°), the more you will be able to work on pliable materials. The smaller the
clearance angle (about 25°) the more resistant the cutter will be for smoothing hard materials.
The most widely used clearance angle is 40° for conical cutters and 30° for flat edge cylindrical cutters.
ρ cutting angle
This forms the engraving shape.
Example :
1/2 angle 15° for engraving moulds or reliefs
22.5° standard angle
1/2 angle 45° when creating a bevel
1/2 angle 35° for engraving a matrix
γ and β angles forming the tip on the CG30
The precise angle is shown on position T, angles being 15° and 7°.
The "tip" is the cutting width.
