Driving without push assist
Under normal circumstances a wheelchair
with Aura push assist can only be moved
with the push assist. When the push assist is
switched off, the parking brake is activated
and driving is no longer possible.
In order to be able to move the wheelchair if
the battery is empty or if there is a fault, the
motors are provided with free-wheel levers.
These levers can be used to switch off the par-
king brake when the push assist is switched
off.
Warning:
Before releasing the parking brakes
using the free-wheel lever, check that
the wheelchair cannot make any un-
wanted movements.
This can lead to dangerous situations,
particularly on slopes. Do not switch
to free-wheel unless strictly necessary.
In these kinds of situations allow the
occupant to step out first and ensure
that there is sufficient help in order to
keep hold of the wheelchair.
Attention:
Ensure that the parking brakes are al-
ways switched on again before leaving
the wheelchair unattended.
Switching the parking brakes on and off
1. Push the black free-wheel lever forward
on both wheels.
The parking brakes are now switched off.
Attention: If the parking brakes are swit-
ched off via the free-wheel levers, the push
assist can no longer be used. When these
are switched on, the battery indicator will

wheels backwards, this automatically

3. Briefly turn off the Aura push support and
turn it on once more to use it.
Slopes
The Aura push assist makes it significantly
easier to drive up and down slopes. However,
there are a number of points that need extra
attention on slopes.
Attention:
Avoid slopes with a gradient greater
than 7°.
When going down a slope, always
keep your speed under control.
The Aura push assist uses much more
electricity going up a slope than on a
flat surface. This can considerably re-
duce the operating range. Pay atten-
tion to the battery indicator in order
to prevent unexpected stoppages.
If it is necessary to brake on a slope by
switching off the free-wheel levers, then
ensure that you are certain that the
wheelchair cannot roll down the slope.
