Safety Controller SK 35
Fault Diagnostic
With the correct wiring of the safety system and switched on the supply voltage, only the green LED
Power may light. If one of the other LEDs light up, there is an error in the system, which can be
localized with the help of the LEDs.

If the fault is not in the wiring, verify the function of the safety controller by applying 8.2 kΩ resis-
tors to the X1, X2 and/or Y1, Y2 inputs of the safety controller. If the electronics works correctly
thereafter, the PSS must be checked by using a resistor measuring instrument (Ohm-meter). For
this, the connection between the safety controller and the PSS must be opened, and the PSS
must be connected to the measuring instrument. The resistor value must be 8.2 kΩ ±100 Ω for a
not operated PSS, and in the operated condition the value should not exceed 500 Ω.
Durable flashing signals the guard interlock condition of the safety controller and requires the
[2]
manual release by the operator/user through the operation of the RESET push-button. The moni-
toring of the RESET push-button is dynamically, with this a durable operation and/or manipulating
of the RESET push-button will be detected and the restart of the machine will not be given.
The testing of the safety system must be coordinated by the superordinate PLC or machinery
[3]
control system and laid out according to in this documentation specified technical data. If the
testing should not proceeded correctly despite suitable settings, a defect of the safety controller
is present.

Fault
Supply voltage is missing, to low,
or connected wrong
PSS 1 resp. 2 is connected
wrong, is activated or the PSS
itself is faulty
PSS 1 resp. 2 is connected
wrong, the connection is inter-
rupted or the PSS itself is faulty
Manual Reset release is missing
Test procedure is incorrect
Fault rectification
Verify the connections and the supply voltage:
230 V (115 V) 50/60 Hz at clamps A1,A2 or
24 V AC/DC at clamps B1,B2. Tolerance range: ±10%
Verify the connections, the wiring and the cables of the
individual PSSs for short-circuits (crushed cables, brittle
cables etc.).
Verify the PSSs.

Verify the connections, the wiring and the cables of the
individual PSSs for interruption (crushed cables, brittle
cables etc.).
Verify the PSSs.
[1]
Verify the operating mode, the reset push-button, the wir-
ing and the connections of the push-button.
Verify the DIP-switch position. Verify the test-signal of the
subordinate PLC or machinery control system.
