CAUTION! When adjusting the tilt angle, avoid placing your
hands between the shaft and the hull of the boat – risk of
injury! If the motor is to remain attached to the boat
after use, it must always be lifted out of the water via
the pivoting mechanism and covered.

2.2 Electrical connection (for 12V batteries only!)

Connect the red battery cable (A) to the positive terminal (marked
by (+) on the battery). Connect the black battery cable (B) to the
negative terminal (-).
The terminals must be rmly connected. Otherwise, malfunctions
may occur.
The battery should always be placed in a well ventilated place.
The motor works with all conventional 12V batteries. Zebco
recommends the use of special marine deep discharge batteries
or LiFePO4 batteries to ensure the best possible operation.
When operating the motor on the on-board electronics of a
combustion engine with charging electronics, the DX-V should
be connected separately from the alternator.

2.3 Putting the motor into operation

Before connecting to the battery (see also point 2.2) please
make sure that the rotary handle (tiller) is in zero position.
The telescopic tiller can be extended to a length of about 25
cm (Fig. 4).
The in nitely variable speed control is integrated in the rotary
handle (Fig. 5). Turning the handle clockwise activates the
forward gear. The reverse gear is activated by turning counter-
clockwise. When the rotary handle is in the zero position, the
motor automatically comes to a standstill.
CAUTION: Excessively fast shifting
between forward and reverse gear
can damage the motor electronics!

2.4 Multifunction display

Each DX-V motor is equipped with a multi-function display that
allows you to monitor various operating states and diagnostic
messages (Fig. 6).

2.5 Depth adjustment and steering tension

To adjust the immersion depth, hold the motor shaft rmly
with one hand, loosen the tension block screw (Fig 7 ) and
the depth adjustment clamp screw (Fig 7 ), and adjust the
motor to the desired depth. Then re-tighten the adjustment
clamp screw rmly. Tighten the tension block screw as required.
