Improper maintenance of the appliance, which
may result in air infiltration.
Inappropriate fuel that produces high temper-
atures.
Door not closed correctly.
4.4 - REFUELING
It is recommended to wait until only embers remain.
To refuel your appliance, follow these steps:
Open the primary air valve completely, allow-
ing the fire to flare up for at least one minute.
Slightly open the door and keep it in this posi-
tion for about 30 seconds.
Open the door fully.
Spread the embers evenly.
Load the firewood.
Close the door.
If the fire is almost out, you will need to leave the
primary air valve open at the maximum setting to
revive the fire. Once the fire is burning quickly, close
the primary air valve and set it to your desired posi-
tion.
4.5 - FUEL
Use dry firewood and only the recommended fuels:
beech wood, oak wood, fruit tree wood, birch
wood.
Inappropriate fuels: spruce wood, wet wood, chemi-
cally treated wood, wood shavings, pellets, coal. Do
not use wood from marine sources as the salts con-
tained in it react during combustion, releasing acids
that can corrode iron and steel.
WARNING! Your stove should not be used as an in-
cinerator, and other fuels (plastics, particleboard,
etc.) should not be used.
Never use gasoline, lamp fuel (such as gasoline),
kerosene, charcoal lighter fluid, ethyl alcohol, or
similar liquids to start or rekindle the fire. Keep all
these products well away from the appliance while
it is in operation.
