This kit replaces the original plastic oil filter housing with
a robust aluminum design.
This oil filter housing is of the later model year design
and will require a 2014 model application oil filter for
future oil changes applicable. See oil filter reference
chart below.

INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1:
Remove the oil filter cap and filter before removing old
housing. Remove oil filter housing and cooler assembly
from engine per vehicle service manual. Clean mating
surface after removal.
STEP 2:
Remove sensor(s) from original housing.
STEP 3:
Install cooler-to-housing gaskets into gasket grooves in
oil filter housing.
STEP 4:
Install oil cooler onto new housing. Using oil cooler
screws, fasten cooler to housing. Tighten cooler-to-
housing screws to 9 lbs-ft (12 N-m).
STEP 5:
Coat sensor threads with thread sealant and install water
and oil (if equipped) sensor(s) into oil filter housing.
Tighten sensor(s) to 15 lbs-ft (20 N-m).
NOTE: Certain model housings will be equipped
with an oil temperature sensor. If your original
housing does not have a temperature sensor,
install plug into unused opening and tighten
to 25 lbs-ft (34 N-m).

Install new O-ring onto front oil return port on housing.
Lubricate with light coat of oil for ease of installation. The
O-ring indicated by the arrow will differ depending
on the model year of the vehicle. Refer to diagram
above to determine which O-ring to use in this location
for your vehicle.
STEP 7:
Install remaining seals.
NOTE: Either the 22.3mm black O-ring
or the 23mm blue O-ring will be left over
in every installation.
STEP 8:

Install oil filter housing. Ensure front oil return port is
fully seated into engine block before tightening mounting
bolts. Tighten oil filter housing bolts in the sequence
shown to 9 lbs-ft (12 N-m). If installing in a 2013 or earlier
vehicle, place decal with information about the new filter
in a conspicous location in engine bay.
STEP 9:
Install largest included O-ring onto oil filter cap. Install
new oil filter onto oil cap. Lubricate O-ring on cap and
small O-ring on the tip of the oil filter with a light coat of
oil. Tighten cap to at least 18 lbs-ft (25 N-m) but no more
than 22 lbs-ft (30 N-m).
STEP 10:
Check oil level and add oil to crankcase to compensate
for lost oil from replacing oil filter.
STEP 11:
Check coolant level and top off coolant level to
compensate for lost coolant during installation. Bleed
the coolant system.
STEP 12:
Test drive vehicle to ensure there are no coolant
or oil leaks.
