RECIRCULATION
(EGR) COOLER

NOTE: O-rings in this kit must be
handled with care and installed with
silicone grease. O-ring damage or
inadequate grease application will
result in a leak.
Disconnect the EGR valve wire harness
connectors.
Remove and retain the EGR bypass valve
and elbow.
Remove original EGR cooler assembly per
factory service manual.
Remove EGR cooler assembly from vehicle.
On bench, remove EGR valve and EGR
bypass from EGR cooler.

Clean the gasket surfaces of the EGR valve
and bypass valve thoroughly of all factory
sealant.
Install EGR valve and EGR bypass valve to
new EGR cooler using supplied gaskets.
Use Permatex Optimum Max Temp Gasket
Maker 27038 or equivalent for 750F or
higher on both sides, using a thin layer
no thicker than 2mm on each side. Reuse
factory mounting hardware. Tighten
to 60 in-lbs (7 N-m).
