Update of the MFCT
Keep the MFCT up-to-date.
1. Use the latest version of the MFCT.
2. Check regularly whether there are new versions of the MFCT available.

Notes on running the MFCT
Follow the instructions below for operating the MFCT:
• For commissioning with MFCT, the MF device must be connected via an Ethernet
connection with 100 Mbps full duplex.
• Only one instance of MFCT or PRONETA may be active in a network. If PRONETA and MFCT
are simultaneously active in the network, you must deactivate cyclic scanning in
PRONETA.
• You can only run MFCT on the fieldbus, not from the plant network via a CPU.

Electronic Data Sheet (EDS)
For integration in EtherNet/IP configuration systems, use a generic EDS file according to CIP
specification Vol. 1.
1. When you transfer your configuration from the MFCT project to your MF device, swap out
the EDS file. More information is available here (Page 27).
2. The latest EDS files at the time of the MFCT release are present in the installation folder
\EDS.
