The curve q m nom -10% shows the values with a p-devia-
tion of -10%. The charts are valid for the following condi-
tion: p o ≥ 2 x ∆p. To guarantee a sufficient valve authority
of the differential pressure regulator
≥ 1.5 x ∆p. Note: Operation of the differential pressure re-
gulator is also given below this value.

brass, DN 50 made of bronze), bonnet made of dezincifi-
cation resistant brass, regulator housing (DN 15 - DN 25

5. Construction and function
5.1. Summary / Functional description
Oventrop differential pressure regulators are installed in
central heating or cooling systems together with a balan-
cing valve of the series "Hycocon". The insulation shells
supplied with the regulator are temperature-resistant up to
110 °C.
The differential pressure regulators are proportional regula -
tors working without auxiliary energy and are designed to
maintain a constant differential pressure within a neces -
sary proportional band.
The nominal value which is infinitely adjustable between
50 and 300 mbar or between 250 and 600 mbar can be
locked and be read-off from the outside at any time. With
direct isolation and a facility for draining and filling, installa -
tion in the return pipe, straight pattern model, valve disc
with soft seal.
6. Installation
H
6.1. Extent of supply
Before installing the regulator, please check delivery for
113
completeness and any damages.
116
6.2. Installation
120
1. Unpack regulator.
140
2. Flush pipework thoroughly. The installation of an Oventrop
strainer is recommended (e.g. item no. 1121004-16).
145
3. Installation of the differential pressure regulator in the
163
return pipe. Installation is possible in any position provided
the direction of flow conforms to the direction of the arrow
on the regulator body.
The capillary should be fitted above or horizontal to the
supply pipe. To avoid blockage of the capillary by small
particles, it should not be connected to the supply pipe
from underneath.
To simplify installation of the regulator where space is limi-
ted, the bonnet can be dismounted. (For further informa -
tion see "Replacement of the bonnet")
4. Connection of the capillary to the valve in the supply
pipe (this can be a valve of the series "Hycocon ATZ, APZ,
VTZ, VPZ, ETZ or HTZ" (see illustr. 6.2). Alternatively, a
"Hydrocontrol VTR, VPR, ATR or APR"
can be used with the adapters 1062090 and 1060191.)
5. Open the capillary in the supply pipe via the stem (part 1)
SW
2
using a 4 mm Allen key (see illustr. 6.1).
30
6. Vent capillaries by opening the capillary screws for a
37
short time (illustr. 6.2). Once water escapes, re-tighten the
screws.
46
7. Pressure test (Must only be carried out with the capillary
52
being connected and open )
