Compressor replacement
• Install the new compressor and in field-
braze the copper pipes with field-supplied
copper slip couplings.
• Connect the wiring; replace wire
terminals if necessary.
• Evacuate the circuit and recharge it.
Refrigerant system cleaning
• A motor burnout is recognized by the
burnt smell coming from the refrigerant
system. When the motor of a hermetic
compressor burns out, the insulation of
the stator winding forms carbon, water
and acid. After burnout, clean the
refrigerant circuit before installing a new
compressor.
Add or replace, filter-drier/strainer,
Accurater piston and any contaminated
capillary tube.
• The refrigerant circuit may be partially
cleaned by washing it with a suitable
solvent before connecting the new
compressor.
- Mount the new compressor and the
expansion device.
- Install a filter-drier with an anti-acid
cartridge on the suction line as
indicated in Table VI.
Pressure ports should be provided to
measure the pressure drop across the
filter-drier once the refrigerant circuit is
in operation.
- After the leak test has been carried out,
evacuate system to at least 0.35 mbar
(see paragraph "vacuum by triple
evacuation").
- Recharge the refrigerant circuit with the
correct type and weight of refrigerant.
Adjust the refrigerant charge for the
filter drier installation (refer to manufacturer's
instructions for filter driers).
It is recommended to use of "DIAL A
CHARGE" equipment for weighing the
charge.
- Start up the unit, check the charge and
correct if necessary.
- Allow the system to run about 48 hours.
- If possible, take an oil sample from the
system and again test for acidity.
If the acid value exceeds 0.05, replace
both filter driers in the liquid and
suction line.
When the oil sample acid value is below
0.05, the system can be considered
properly cleaned.

Sostituzione
compressore
• Installare il nuovo compressore e saldare
le tubazioni mediante nuovi giunti a bicchiere
sulle tubazioni di rame, effettuati sul posto.
• Collegare i cavetti; sostituire se necessario
i terminali faston.
• Eseguire il vuoto del circuito e ricaricarlo.
Pulizia del circuito frigorifero
• La bruciatura del motore è facilmente
riconoscibile dall'odore di bruciato
proveniente dal circuito frigorifero.
Quando il motore di un compressore ermetico
brucia, l'isolamento dell'avvolgimento dello
statore forma carbone, acqua e acido.
Dopo la bruciatura, pulire il circuito frigorifero
prima di installare il nuovo compressore.
Aggiungere o sostituire, il filtro disidratatore, il
filtro a rete, il pistone Accurater e qualsiasi
tubo capillare contaminato.
• Il circuito frigorifero può essere parzialmente
pulito lavandolo con apposito solvente
prima di installare il nuovo compressore.
- Montare i nuovi compressore e dispositivo
di laminazione.
- Installare un filtro disidratatore con cartucce
antiacido sulla linea di aspirazione come
indicato in Tab. VI. Devono essere previste
delle prese di pressione per misurare la
caduta di pressione attraverso il filtro
disidratatore, una volta posto in funzione il
circuito frigorifero.
- Dopo aver controllato la tenuta, effettuare il
vuoto ad almeno 0.35 mbar (vedi paragrafo
"Vuoto per triplice evacuazione").
- Ricaricare il circuito frigorifero con il corretto
peso e tipo di refrigerante.
Compensare la carica per il maggior volume
dovuto all'installazione dei filtri disidratatori
(riferirsi alle istruzioni del fabbricante dei
disidratatori).
Si raccomanda l'uso di una apparecchiatura
di carica del tipo DIAL A CHARGE per
determinare il peso della carica.
- Avviare l'unità, verificare la carica e
correggere se necessario.
- Lasciar funzionare l'unità per circa 48 ore.
- Se possibile, prelevare dal circuito frigorifero
una campionatura di olio e analizzare la
sua acidità.
Se il valore di acidità supera 0,05, sostituire
ambedue i disidratatori sulla linea del liquido
e sull'aspirazione.
Se il campione di olio ha una acidità inferiore
a 0,05 il circuito frigorifero può considerarsi
sufficientemente pulito.
