16.2 Folding the Stent
WARNING
• For Y stents: Adjust the stent in the folding device according to the symbol.
Otherwise correct placement of the stent is not possible. There is a risk of dyspnoea.
1. Apply the lubricant to the open folding device and the stent.
2. Place the open folding device in the basic block. Ensure that the locking
mechanism of the folding system and the notch on the basic block are
aligned. The proximal end of the stent will be located here later.
3. Place the stent in the folding device.
For type TD / TF ≥ 18 mm, Y, OKI stents: Place the stud-free dorsal side
of the stent facing downward in the folding device in order to achieve a
defined starting position for placement.
For type Y, OKI stents: Adjust the stent in the folding device according to
the symbol.
4. Place the clamping rod into the hole at the distal end of the basic block.
Rotate the clamping rod so that the wings are aligned horizontally.
5. Press the clamping rod into the notch on the basic block. The stent will
be folded.
For type Y, OKI stents: Carefully push the sides towards the middle.
Ensure that both sides are aligned distally.
