SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Installation:
After removing the device from its packaging, place it on its base in a safe location free from other
devices and objects that may hinder its handling and where it cannot be knocked over or damaged.
Ensure the surface is properly clean, dry and possesses no heating sources.
Before using your device, make sure that the mechanical parts and all of its accessories are in good
condition. If you should have any doubt, do not use the device and contact Customer Support. This
device is considered suitable for use in countries with a temperate climate. It may also be used in
other countries.
Do not use the device outside or where exposed to weather conditions (rain, sun, etc.). Do not place
the device close to or on a hot gas or electric stove or in a hot oven. When used for the first time, it is
possible that the device will emit an odour caused by the insulation materials and elements subject
to heating. This odour will disappear in a few minutes. Some devices may show signs of previous use
due to strict quality control testing. Instal the device
according to the manufacturer's instructions. If the device is incorrectly installed, it may cause
material damage for which the manufacturer shall not be deemed liable.
Electrical power:
Check whether the electrical voltage at the outlet corresponds with the voltage on the rating label on
your coffee machine. Only plug the device into earthed sockets.
Power lead:
Do not turn the device on if the lead or socket are damaged or broken. Call the Customer Service
Line.
If the power lead is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, the service provider or a
similarly qualified person to mitigate the risks. In the event of an emergency, immediately remove the
plug from the socket. Do not leave the power lead hanging over a table or counter. Do not allow the
lead to come into direct contact with hot surfaces. To turn the device off, remove the plug from the
socket by pulling the plug. Never pull the lead.
Take the plug out of its socket when the device is not being used or before cleaning.
If an extension lead is necessary, only use one which is earthed.
Risk of electric shock:
To protect people from fire, electric shock and injury, do not immerse the lead, socket or device in
water or any other liquid.
Do not touch the lead with wet or damp hands.
The use of accessories not recommended by the manufacturer may cause a fire, electric shock or
injury.
