WARNING
Risk of explosion!
In hazardous areas, electrostatic discharge may cause a spark to ignite on the
antenna.
► Do not clean antenna in hazardous areas with a dry cloth. Use a damp cloth
for cleaning.

Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
WARNING
Risk of explosion!
Replacement of components may impair intrinsic safety.
In potentially explosive gas atmospheres, the gas detector can be serviced
without declassifying the area.
12.1
Sensor change
The sensor can be replaced in a hazardous area without interrupting the supply
voltage. The sensor can be changed at any time.
When replacing with a sensor of the same type (same order number as the
current sensor), the configuration settings are retained. If a different sensor type
(different order number) is used, the configuration settings are overwritten with
the factory settings of the new sensor.
When the sensor lock feature is activated, the use of sensors with different
order numbers is blocked. If necessary, deactivate the sensor lock feature.
12.1.1 Replacing the sensor
1. Replace the old sensor with a new sensor:
a. Loosen the set screw (Fig. B 2).

b. Unscrew the bayonet ring (Fig. B 3).
c. Remove old sensor.
 Measured value status "Bad" (substatus "sensor not detected or
defective") is output.
d. Insert new sensor (Fig. B 4) into opening.
Align Dräger logo with marking on housing (Fig. B 5).
 Measured value status "Bad" (substatus "warm-up phase 1 active")
is output.
e. Secure the sensor with the bayonet ring.
f.
Tighten the set screw. Required for installation in Zone 22.
2. If necessary, attach the tag supplied with the sensor to the gas detector.
3. The sensor warm-up time is displayed in PolySoft.
 Measured value status "Bad" (substatus "warm-up phase 1 active")
remains active until warm-up phase 1 is completed. Maximum warm-up
time of a new sensor: see the instructions for use of the sensor.
4. Calibrate the gas detector after completion of warm-up phase 2.
12.2
Bump test
A bump test is a quick test to check the sensitivity without transmitting the
measured value to the controller. The feature is available in PolySoft.
12.3
Testing the signal chain
To test the signal chain from the gas detector to the controller, the gas reading
(PV), measured value status (PV_STATUS), and the device status
(DIAG_STATUS) are simulated. The simulation mode is available in PolySoft.
12.4
LED test
The Dräger PolySoft configuration software can be used to perform an LED test
to verify the function of the LED display.
No errors or warnings should be active during the LED test.
