Controlling the Outputs
When E36731A is used as an electronic load, the input terminals are referred to as "outputs" or "output ter-
minals" throughout this document.
Step 1 - Set the instrument function
Press Function to switch the instrument to P.Supply mode or Load mode.
Refer to the Specifying the Source/Load Function
Step 2 - Set the load operating mode
Press Mode to set the operating mode to constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV), constant resistance (CR), or
constant power (CP) mode.

Step 3 - Set the output voltage, current, resistance*, or power*
* Applicable for Load mode only
Turn the knob to set the output. The output values changes when they are turned.
This knob is active in Meter View, Scope View and Data Logger View.
You can also enter the voltage, current, resistance, or power values directly in the numeric entry fields (the Set
fields) in the meter-view display. Use the navigation keys to select the field; use the numeric entry keys to enter the
value. The value becomes active when you press [Enter].
