Changing the direction of force
(See right cover)
The following description assumes that the system joint is supplied new
and therefore the tension spring is mounted with the red side facing
upwards.
Step 1
Loosen the central screw on the housing using the roundhead screw-
driver. Now remove the screw (Fig. 1).
Step 2
Lift up the housing over the central axis and lay it aside. Now a white
washer and the force indicator disc with the red printing are visible (Fig.
2). Lift both also from the spring cassette and put them safely aside.
The spring-loaded cassette including the spring can now be moved up
from the axis over the central joint axis.
Step 3
Use a flat screwdriver to remove the cover plate of the spring cassette
and put it aside (Fig. 3). The red side of the tension spring is now visible
(Fig. 4).
Step 4
Lift the cassette up from the joint and turn it over completely so that the
yellow spring side is visible. Then place the cassette back over the cen-
tral axis on the joint (Fig. 5). Please note: Make sure that the slide ring
under the spring cassette is correctly positioned before replacing it.
Step 5
Replace the cover plate on the spring cassette (Fig. 6) and place the
force indicator disc, yellow print side up, on the cover plate. (Fig. 7).
Align the 0 on the indicator disc with the force output indicator mark
( 6 ) on the brake housing.
Step 6
Replace the washer and the cap correctly and screw them back on (Fig. 8).
