CAUTION: A battery may constitute a risk of an electric shock or burns due to the high
short-circuit current. Defective batteries can reach temperatures exceeding the burning
thresholds on the surfaces that can be touched. When carrying out activities on the batter-
ies, carefully read the following instructions:
a. Remove watches, rings or other metal objects.
b. Use tools with insulated handles.
c. Wear rubber gloves and boots.
d. Do not lay tools or metal parts on top of batteries.
e. Disconnect the charging source prior to connecting or disconnecting battery terminals.
f.
Determine if battery is inadvertently grounded. If inadvertently grounded, remove
source from ground. Contact with any parts of the earth battery can cause electric shock
or burns due to the high short circuit current. The likelihood of such shock can be re-
duced if such grounds are removed during installation and maintenance (applicable to
equipment and remote battery supplies not having a grounded supply circuit).
g. When replacing the batteries, make sure that the new type is the same, and that the
same number of batteries or battery sets are installed.
CAUTION: Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. The batteries may explode.
CAUTION: Do not open or mutilate batteries. Released electrolyte can be harmful if it
comes into contact with the skin and eyes and is toxic.
CAUTION: Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with one of a different type.
Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions.
• The input and output connections of the UPS carry dangerous high voltages. Contact with
these voltages may carry significant risks of death.
• In case of emergency, immediately switch off the device and disconnect the power supply ca-
ble from the AC power socket to disable the UPS.
Do not allow any liquid or any foreign object to enter the UPS.
The UPS must be installed indoor with controlled room temperature between 0°C (+32°F) and
+40°C (+104°F) and relative humidity between 20% and 80%, non condensing.
• Do not install the UPS in locations with sparks, smoke and hazardous gas or where there is
water or excessive humidity. Dusty, corrosive, and salty environments can damage the UPS.
• Do not connect the UPS input to its output.
• In case of connection with additional battery cabinets, never disconnect the connection cable
between the UPS and the cabinet during battery UPS operation.
• Make sure that the cables connecting the loads to the UPS do not exceed 10 metres.
• Keep a clearance of at least 20 cm on all sides of the UPS. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight or
installation nearby heat sources.
• Disconnect the UPS before cleaning and do not use liquid or spray detergents.
• Do not place the UPS near equipment generating strong electromagnetic fields and/or equip-
ment sensitive to electromagnetic loads.
