Balancing relative volume between
speakers using Test Tone
The test tone function is useful to adjust the relative volume
between speakers.
Once the balance is set, you don't have to change the
balance as long as the speakers aren't moved.
< It is also possible to adjust the relative volume during playback
of DVD. See 38 page for details.
< Use the remote control from your listening position.
< The T.TONE button will not work when the SPEAKER button
is set to off. In that case, press the SPEAKER button to turn
the speakers on.
< The T.TONE button will not work when EXTERNAL IN is
selected. In that case, press the EXTERNAL IN button to turn it
off.

Press the T.TONE button.
The test tone is emitted from each speaker in the following
order at 2.5-second intervals.
FL, C, FR, SR, SB, SL, SW
< If certain speakers are not being used, (for example, no center
speaker) the noise sequencer will automatically skip over that
channel.

Adjust the master volume to the normal listening level.

Adjust the volume of each speaker so that the test tone
from each speakers sounds the same.
< The level of the speaker emitting the test tone can be
changed by pressing the LEVEL buttons.
< The level can be adjusted in 1 dB steps from –15 dB to +15
dB.
< If you press the CH SEL (CHANNEL SELECTOR) button, the
test tone stays there. To go to the next speaker, press the CH
SEL button again.

When the setting has been finished, press the T.TONE
button to stop the test tone.
