Warning against electric shock.
Ensure and take suitable precautions before opening the housing.
Warning of explosion.
Before opening the housing to make sure that no explosive atmos-
phere environment.

8.2.1 Electrical connection

The electrical connection of the equipment must be performed
by qualified electricians (IEC/EN 60079-14).
See wiring diagram and fig. 11 ... 13.
The connection terminals are located on the side with the type plate of the
light fitting ExLin NE+ .
All screws and/or nuts of the connection terminals, including those not in
use, shall be tightened securely.
To maintain the explosion protection, the connection of conduc-
tors shall be carried out with special care.
X
If the light fitting ExLin NE+ is operated with optional through-wiring,
ATEX - IEC
the conductors may be loaded with max. 16 A.
Higher temperatures may occur at the entries and at the cable junction.
Observe the relevant notes at "1 Technical data"
The minimum and maximum conductor cross sections shall be
taken in account (see technical data).
Notice:
Only plug in the 4-pin plug of the battery connection shortly before actually
putting the light into operation.
Immediately after this connection has been established, the emergency
light of the ExLin NE+ luminaire is switched on.
If mains voltage is present, the ExLin NE+ light switches to mains
operation - the emergency light goes out.
The respective regulations shall be taken into account when connecting
the correctly stripped connection conductors of the cables.
Only carry out insulation measurements between PE and the external
conductor L1 (L, L2, L3) as well as between PE and N.
– measuring voltage: max. 1 kV DC
– measuring current: max. 10 mA
Mind: The charging conductor L and
the luminaire's mains connection must always be connected to the
same external conductor of the mains supply!
8.2.2 Initialize battery / ExLin NE+
As part of the commissioning, fully charge the ExLin NE+ light once, then
discharge it and fully charge it again.
During this cycle, the red LED may be lit or flashing.
After the cycle is finished, the green LED is on. The red LED is off.
The electronics are initialized.
Only after the second charging process does the built-in electronics check
the energy in the battery that is required for the selected emergency light
duration of 1.5 hours or 3 hours to be available. .

Remove all foreign bodies from the device.
– Pay attention to the correct fit of the enclosure top part and the seals.
– All seals must be clean and undamaged.
– The light fitting ExLin NE+ may not be damaged.
– Tighten all enclosure combi-screws (test torque see technical data).
Overtightening might impair the pull-relief effect!

its correct function in accordance with these instructions and with
other applicable regulations!
The following is to be checked:
and blanking plugs are firmly tightened.
The Explosion protected ExLin NE+ LED is to be used in perfect condition
and without any damages.

Prior to taking the apparatus into operation, the tests specified in the
relevant national regulations will have to be carried out.
Apart from that, the correct functioning and installation of the apparatus in
accordance with these operating instructions and other applicable
regulations will have to be checked (IEC/EN 60079-14).
Improper installation and operation of the lamp leads to loss of the
guarantee.
10.1. Charging battery for the first time
The battery pack needs approx. 14 hours to fully charge at constant mains
voltage.
If the ambient temperature is below 0 °C, a built-in heater first heats the
battery pack in the ExLin NE + luminaire to the optimum temperature for
charging.
10.2 Charging during operation
The built-in control in the ExLin NE + luminaire continuously monitors the
battery pack.
The internal heating ensures that the cells in the battery pack are always in
the optimal temperature range.
The deep discharge protection with restart lock monitors the battery
voltage in the event of a power failure and prevents deep discharge of the
cells.
The battery capacity, which is reduced by self-discharge in normal
operation, is controlled and recharged by the microprocessor.

Function test

Prior to taking the ExLin NE+ light fitting into operation, check
whether any gasket is damaged
whether there are any cracks or damages on the
housing and protection screen
whether the terminals, fastening screws
