Basket system
Except for the FBD model, the freezer is
fitted with a three-level slide system.
There are two types of baskets.

tom.
Slide baskets/hanging baskets. By

moving the handle, the basket can either
be suspended from the top frame or be
slid on the top edge of the wire compart-
ment divider.

Useful hints

Lid sticking
Opening and closing the lid produces a
slight vacuum in the freezer. If you need to
open and close the lid repeatedly over a
short period, insert a spacer between the
lid and top frame to create an air gap.
Function stop
If the freezer stops completely and a ser-
vice technician is called, keep the lid
closed until he/she arrives. How long the
freezer can remain stopped without items
being spoiled depends upon the room
temperature, the quantity of items in the
freezer, etc. The rule of thumb is that
(depending on its size) a full freezer is able
to retain the cold for 40 to 50 hours
– provided the lid is kept closed.
Freezer to remain unused for a time
When the freezer has been defrosted and
cleaned, allow the lid to remain slightly
open. This will prevent the unpleasant
odours that might otherwise arise.
Compressor does not run
• Check the temperature setting
• Check to ensure that the power is on and

that the plug is properly inserted in the wall
socket.
Liquid noise (murmur or gurgle)
Can arise from circulating refrigerant and

is normal, even when the compressor is
not running.
Note
The compressor starting system often
needs a pause before it performs a restart.
The compressor control itself determines
how long this period must be.

Replacing the bulb in
the lid
The lid lamp bulb is located under a grey
plastic guard. Before replacing the bulb,
unplug the power cord at the wall socket.
Now remove the guard
bulb. Set the guard back in place, then
plug the power cord in again.
Disposal
When the freezer has finally served its pur-
pose and is to be scrapped, it must be dis-
posed of in an environmentally justifiable
manner.
Please observe local regulations on dispo-
sal. There might be special
requirements/conditions to be fulfilled.
