Several Base Stations
The use of several base stations increases the range and, thus, the mobility of your
handsets. Your handsets can be registered on up to four different base stations in order to
increase the area in which the handsets can be used. BDT-650 base stations can be used
for this or base stations from other manufacturers, as long as the devices comply with the
GAP Standard. All base stations require their own telephone line socket. The base stations
can be connected to telephone line sockets with the same call number and even to
connections with different call numbers.

Registering handsets on other base stations
Before being able to make calls via several different base stations, the handset must be
registered on all the base stations to be used.

Registration on BDT-650 base stations
If you extend your telephone system by adding BDT-650 base stations, register your
BDT-650 handsets on all the other base stations. Handsets from other manufacturers can
also be registered (refer to Chapters 12.1.1 and 12.1.2).
13.1.2
Registering on base stations from other manufacturers
To register a BDT-650 handset on a base station from a different manufacturer, follow the
instructions in Chapter 12.1.3. Use the PIN code of the base station from the external
manufacturer for the registration.

Selecting a base station

You can use the handset to manually select the base station to be used to make calls. It is
also possible to define settings ensuring the handset automatically establishes a
connection with the bases stations within range. The handset then automatically registers
on the nearest base station. Calls in progress, however, cannot be transferred from one
base station to another. In order for the automatic transfer of the handsets from one base
station to another to work properly, the respective handset must be registered on all the
base stations via which calls should be taken and made.
Select the base stations via which you want to make calls manually or activate the
