Define search zone and optimise decoding

Frame of the search
zone
To maximise reading reliability and reading rate the search zone has to be set and the
code image may have to be optimised.
The min. permissible search zone is at first suggested on the basis of the marked cor-
ners of the code. You can change the size of the search zone, however it cannot
become smaller than the min. permissible search zone. The following applies to the
selection of the search zone:
• With moving objects the code has to appear within this zone as only the image
data of this zone are used for code reading.
• The zone must not be unnecessarily enlarged in time-critical cases as the reading
rate largely depends on the size of the search zone.
It may become necessary to optimise the code image if the image proves to be faulty
(image noise) or if the size of the light and dark code modules differs considerably.
