arms.
• When working in a cold environment, wear warm
clothing and keep your hands warm and dry.
• If you notice numbness, tingling or pain in your fin-
gers or hands or notice that the skin of your fingers
or hands has become pale, stop working with the
sander or polisher and consult a doctor.
• The sander or polisher is to be operated and main-
tained in accordance with the recommendations
contained in this manual to reduce any unnecessary
increase of the vibrations.
• Hold the machine securely but not too firmly while
maintaining the necessary hand-reaction force, as
the vibration risk generally increases the harder the
machine is held.
Additional safety instructions for pneumatic ma-
chines
• Compressed air can cause serious injury. Ensure
that the air supply is switched off, the hose is not
under pressure and that the machine is disconnec-
ted from the air supply when not in us, and also be-
fore exchanging accessories or carrying out repairs.
Never aim the airflow towards yourself or any other
person.
• Thrashing hoses can cause serious injury. Therefo-
re, always check that the hoses and their fixings are
not damaged or have not come loose. If universal
rotary joints (claw couplings) are used, locking pins
must be used to provide protection; Whipchek air
hose restraints must be used to provide protection in
case of a failure of the connection of the hose to the
machine.
• Ensure that the maximum permissible pressure sta-
ted on the machine is not exceeded.
• Never carry compressed-air-powered machines by
the hose.

Special safety instructions

• Always wear eye protection when using or maintai-
ning the sander.
• Always wear suitable protective clothing. Protect
your hands, hair and clothes from being drawn in by
rotating parts.
• Always wear a dust mask in situations in which large
amounts of dust are being generated.
• Always wear hearing protection.
• Always wear protective gloves.
• Only connect the sander to the compressed air net-
work when it is switched off.
• Sparks are created during grinding. Ensure that
nobody can be endangered by flying sparks. You
should also remove any flammable materials or ob-
jects.
• Do not carry the grinder if it has been connected to
the compressed air hose.
• Be aware of the danger caused by a flailing com-
pressed air hose!
• The grinder is not approved for use with cutting
discs!
• The flow pressure of 6.3 bar may not be exceeded
during operation.
• Never use oxygen or other flammable gases as an
energy source.
• Switch the appliance on before applying it to the
workpiece. After completing the task, lift the appli-
ance from the workpiece and then switch it off.
• Once you have completed your work, switch the
grinder off and place it down securely once it has
come to a standstill. Caution! Grinder continues to
run.

• Once you have completed your work, disconnect the
grinder from the compressed air supply.
• Be aware that when processing certain materials
there is a danger that dust and vapours can arise
that could create an explosive atmosphere. Use va-
cuum cleaners and suitable protective equipment.

Before initial operation

• The grinder may only be operated on cleaned, oil-
atomised compressed air and may not exceed the
maximum operating pressure of 6.3 bar at the appli-
ance. The compressor must be fitted with a pressure
reducer to regulate the working pressure.
Fitting the connector nipple
• Remove the plastic protective cap from the
appliance's air inlet.
• Wrap the threads on the connector nipple (5) with
Teflon tape.
• Screw the connector nipple (5) into the air inlet.
Fitting the grinding disc
The compressed air-powered random orbital sander is
equipped with a protective cuff (10) .
• To fit or replace the grinding disc (9) invert the pro-
tective cuff (10) (see Fig. 1).
WARNING!
• Never operate the compressed air-powered random
orbital sander without the protective cuff (10).
• Never operate the compressed air-powered random
orbital sander with an inverted protective cuff (10).
• A damaged protective cuff (10) should be replaced
immediately.
• Turn the spindle lock (7) with the knurled bulge to-
wards the flat side of the eccentric spindle (8) (see
Fig. 2).
• Remove the protective cap (9) from the threaded rod
of the grinding disc and screw it clockwise into the
eccentric spindle as (8) far as the stop.
• Undo the spindle lock (7) so that the eccentric spind-
le (8) can turn freely on its own axis.
• CAUTION! Never operate the compressed air-po-
wered random orbital sander with a locked drive
spindle. This is dangerous and can result in serious
injuries.
Selecting a sandpaper disc
Erosion and surface:
The material removal rate and surface quality are de-
termined by the grain strength of the sandpaper.
• Please note that you can use sandpapers with vari-
ous grain sizes for working the different materials.
Fitting the sandpaper disc
CAUTION! Ensure that the appliance is disconnected
from the compressed air source before you fit or remo-
ve a sandpaper disc (11).
• The grinding disc (9) and the supplied sandpaper
discs (11) are equipped with matching Velcro faste-
ners.
• Select the sandpaper disc (11) with the desired grain
and press it onto the grinding disc (9). Ensure that it
is centred.
• To change the sandpaper disc (11), lift it from the
side and pull it off the grinding disc (9) . Clean the
grinding disc (9) as required with compressed air.
