MAINTENANCE
Read the safety instructions
Weekly:
(Every 40 working hours)
Generally check that all nuts and bolts are tight, there
are no hydraulic leaks and hydraulic oil level in tank is
correct.
END OF SEASON SERVICING
1. (a) Clean the machine thoroughly of all
accumulation of grass clippings and dirt.
(b) Turn the cutting cylinders to clean the
cutting edges.
(c) Apply a little oil with a brush to all the
spiral cutters to prevent rusting. A few
turns of the cutting cylinders will soon
spread the oil on to the bottom blades.
WARNING: Do not turn the cylinders by hand.
2. Completely drain the hydraulic oil system as
follows:
(a) Remove the inlet hydraulic hose from
one of the pumps (A fig. 67) and drain
the oil from the hydraulic tank.
(b) Fit a new oil filter in the hydraulic tank
and fill with fresh oil Shell Tellus 46
(82 litres) to the correct level.
3. To replace filter (fig. 68)
(a) Unscrew nut (A) and remove washer (B),
sealing washer (C), cover plate (D), and
sealing ring (E).
(b) Unscrew the filter bolt (F) and withdraw
the filter assembly (G) from the tank.
(c) Extract the split pin (H) from the filter
bolt and remove the filter element from
the bottom plate (J).
(d) Fit a new element and reassemble in
reverse order of removal.
4. Remove oil strainer (K) from the tank and wash
in methylated spirit.
5. Drain the P.T.O. gearbox and refill to the
correct level with S.A.E. 30 oil.
