17. Troubleshooting

Fault
Motor does not start
Saw band doesn't move
Incorrect turning direction

The motor does not reach its
full power.
Motor overheats easily.
Possible cause
• No power
• Switch, capacitor defective
• Electrical extension lead faulty
• Open housing cover (limit switch)
• Motor, cable or plug defective,
fuses burnt
• No power
• V-belt torn
• Motor, cable or plug defective,
fuses burnt
• Incorrect connection
• Guide incorrectly adjusted
• Incorrect saw band
• Saw band blunt
• Incorrect saw band
• Saw band blunt
• Saw band resinous
• Guide incorrectly adjusted
• Voltage too low, coils damaged,
capacitor burnt
• Coils damaged, motor defective
• Circuits in the network are overload-
ed (lamps, other motors, etc.)
• Overloading of the motor, insufficient
cooling of the motor

Remedy
• Check the mains fuse
• Have checked by an electrician
• Unplug the mains fuse, check,
replace if necessary
• Close housing cover precisely
• Arrange for inspection of the machine
by a specialist. Never repair the motor
yourself. Danger! Check fuses and
replace as necessary
