9.12.2 Guide rollers (Fig. 20)
m Attention! The saw band jams when the rollers are
too tight to the saw band or are adjusted incorrectly!
Adjust the top and bottom guide rollers (32) to the re-
spective saw band width. The front edges of the guide
rollers may only reach up to the tooth base of the saw
band. If the guide rollers gently touch the saw band,
counter the seating of the rollers using the knurled
screw.
9.13 Replacing the table inlay (Fig. 11)
In the event of wear or damage, the table inlay (25)
must be replaced, otherwise there is an increased
danger of injury.
1.
Remove the worn table inlay (25) by lifting it out.
2.
Installation of the new table inlay takes place in
reverse order.
9.14 Switching on/off (Fig. 1)
1.
Press the green "I" button (14) to switch the saw
on. Before you start sawing, wait until the saw
band has reached its maximum cutting speed.
2.
To switch saw off again, press the red button "0"
(14).
3.
The band saw is equipped with an undervoltage
switch. With a power failure, the band saw must
be switched back on again.
9.15 Adjusting the cutting speed, (fig. 21)
The cutting speed may only be adjusted during op-
eration. Non-observance can result in damage to
the device.
1.
Reduce the cutting speed by turning the hand
wheel (9) clockwise.
2.
Increase the cutting speed by turning the hand
wheel (9) anti-clockwise.
Cutting speed:
Minimum cutting speed 370 m/min.
For the processing of aluminium, brass, copper, ther-
mosetting plastics and hard plastics.
Maximum cutting speed 750 m/min.
For the processing of wood.

10. Working instructions

The following recommendations are examples for safe
use of the band saws. The following safe working meth-
ods are considered to contribute to safety but may not
be appropriate, fully or extensively applicable for every
use. They cannot cover all possible hazardous condi-
tions and must be interpreted carefully.
• Connect the machine to a suction system if used in
enclosed spaces. For work in commercial areas, a
suction system must be used which corresponds to
commercial regulations.
• Switch on the extraction system before machining
commences.
• Details in relation to the wood chip and saw dust ex-
traction unit installed on the machine:
- Required volumetric air flow rate:860 m
- Negative
speed:1500 PA
- Recommended air speed:20 ms
• The counter-pressure roller must be advanced un-
til just a short distance from the back of the band
saw blade, if the band saw blade is running, after
it has been tensioned and once its guide has been
adjusted. This prevents grooves forming in the com-
pression roller. This can lead to damage to the band
saw blade.
• Always use sharpened band saw blades.
• If the machine is not in operation, e.g. work is com-
plete, slacken the saw band. Attach a corresponding
note to the machine for the next user about the ten-
sioning of the saw band.
• Store unused saw bands together and safely in a dry
place. Check for faults (teeth, cracks) before use. Do
not use defective saw bands!
• Never clean the saw band or the saw band guide (5)
with a hand-held brush or scraper if the saw band is
running. Resinous saw bands jeopardise work safe-
ty and must be cleaned regularly.
• Always position the saw band guide (5) as close as
possible to the workpiece when working.
• Make sure that the lighting conditions in the working
and surrounding area of the machine are sufficient.
• Always use the parallel stop for straight cuts in order
to prevent the workpiece from tilting or slipping.
• Use the push stick for processing narrow workpiec-
es with manual advance.
• Bring the saw table into the corresponding position
for angled cuts and guide the workpiece on the par-
allel stop.
