Fault
Booster mode does not
work. The "Batt. II" LED does
not light up.
Booster constantly switches
between active and idle

Possible cause
Voltage at D+ terminal <8 V.
Starting battery voltage too low
Weak D+ signal.
Shutdown by safety timer. The I phase
has lasted too long (> 15 h).
Too many DC loads connected.
The battery is defective.
Overheating of the battery control
booster.
The battery is defective.
House battery is already charged.
The battery terminals are not connected
correctly.

Suggested remedy
➤ Check voltage at D+ terminal.
➤ The charging current is too high for
the alternator. Reduce the charging
power (see chapter "Reducing the
current consumption from the starter
circuit in booster operation" on
page 29).
➤ Check the starting battery and the
alternator.
➤ Check the D+ signal.
➤ Alternatively use the ignition key sig-
nal (terminal 15) or install a D+ active
simulator.
➤ Reset the device by removing the con-
trol signal at D+. Switch off the motor
and disconnect the device from the
mains.
➤ Reduce the connected DC loads.
➤ Replace the battery.
The battery control booster restarts auto-
matically when the temperature drops.
➤ Replace the battery.
➤ Load with powerful consumers.
➤ Check the connections.
➤ Check the cable cross-sections and
lengths (see chapter "Determine
cable cross-section" on page 23).
➤ Check the stripped cable ends.
➤ Check the voltages directly at the ter-
minals.
