Compact Disc (CD) instructions

CD operation

Sound interruptions may occur if the CD is dirty. In order to
ensure optimum tone quality, please note the following:
• Always touch the CD at the edges only. Keep the disc
clean and never touch the surface.
• Never stick anything to the CD.
• Protect the CDs against direct sunlight and from heat
sources such as heaters etc.
• Before playing, clean the CD with a commercially availa-
ble cleaning cloth, wiping from the centre outwards. Sol-
vents such as petrol, thinners or other commercially
available cleaners and anti-static sprays must not be used.
When playing a CD-R (Recordable)
You can play back your original CD-Rs on this receiver.
• Before playing back CD-Rs, read their instructions or cau-
tions carefully.
• Some CD-Rs recorded on CD recorders may not be played
back on this receiver because of their disc characteristics,
and of the following reasons:
– Discs are dirty or scratched.
– Moisture condensation occurs on the lens inside the unit.
– The pickup lens inside the CD player is dirty.
• Use only "finalized" CD-Rs.
• CD-RWs (Rewritable) cannot be played back on this re-
ceiver.
• Do not use CD-Rs with stickers or sticking labels on the
surface. They may cause malfunctions.
Attention: • Do not insert 8 cm CDs (single CDs) into the
loading slot. (Such CDs cannot be ejected.)
• Do not insert any CD of unusual shape — like
a heart or flower; otherwise, it will cause a mal-
function.

Inserting/ejecting CDs

Press button; the display folds downwards and the CD
slot becomes visible. Insert the disc into the CD slot with the
printed side upwards. The unit pulls in the CD automatically
and begins to play the disc from the first track. Then fold the
display up again.
After playing the last track, the unit automatically begins to
play the first track of the CD again.
If there is already a CD in the slot, press the
CD changer/AUX operation was last selected, use the multi-
function button to switch to CD operation.

To eject a CD, press and hold
downwards and the CD is ejected. Remove the CD. Then fold
the display up again.
Attention: The CD is not ejected when the unit is
switched off but remains in the CD slot.
